| 30 March Football Supporters Day |
|
|
We wore our favourite team's strip at school today and tried to remember that you can still be friends even though you support different teams.
We had Burnley, Blackburn, Manchester United, Newcastle, Preston, England, Brazil,
Years ago, supporters used to stand together on the terraces and there was hardly ever any trouble between rival fans. It would be great if this could happen agan.
Matthew and Philip, members of our school football team, wish each other luck in the big match on Sunday. |

On the 29th of March 2001, a missionary from Indonesia, Linda Chamberlain, came to Hippings to tell us about Jesus and some of the things that happened to her whilst she was working in Indonesia. Linda had to learn a whole new language to be able to go and work in Indonesia! The people there were very friendly and polite, but it was considered very rude to point at somebody with your finger. Instead you had to point with your chin! ( No joke!) The climate was very hot and sticky. There were hundreds of spices to eat |

On the 28th March 2001, four children out of year six, Jack Whalley, Joshua Potts, Robyn Entwistle and Katy Atkinson, went down to the BBC Radio Lancashire Online Mobile Zone on Harvey Street. The Online Mobile Zone, is a bus, which has been converted into a place where you can surf the Web and some lucky people can get interviewed at the back of the bus where there is a mini studio. The interview took place outside the bus, next to Hippings Vale Community Centre and started at 10:50am. Neil and the people at the studio asked us questions about the Internet and the school web-site. Mr. Haslam and Jack Whalley did most of the talking, Robyn, Katy and Joshua said their names but not much else! (Joshua got a chance to talk, but he didn't know what to say!) We all had a great time! March We visit the Radio Lancashire Mobile Zonesit the Radio Here we are at the Community Centre where we saw an exhibition about Oswaldtwistle and its history Click below to hear interview. |
