We travelled
to Hull by coach then by overnight ferry to Rotterdam. The coach took
us across Holland to the town of Bocholt in Germany. First we had a meal
at the Gasthof 'Der Kok' then we went to the Europa Centre where we were
staying. We had a trip to the Textile Museum and a visit to the Bahia
Pool where we met some children from the Ludgerus-schule. The coach took
us to lots of interesting places.
The centre of the town of Bocholt was about ten minutes walk from the
Europa Centre. There is a very famous Town Hall, the
River Aa and lots of bicycles everywhere. We did some shopping and found
a fantastic ice-cream shop.
On Rosenmontag we went to the Karneval celebrations and joined in the
procession of floats. Then it was soon time to go home. Before we set
off, we visited the Ludgerus-schule and saw all the different classes.
At the end we gathered round the special 'Friendship Ring' to say goodbye
to everyone.
